Sopiko Grigolashvili
Artist • Founder of GRIG STUDIO

(born October 1992, Georgia) is a contemporary artist and internationally trained dentist based in the United States.

Raised in a family of artists, she grew up surrounded by canvases, brushes, and the language of making. Drawing became her first form of expression, followed by a lifelong fascination with color, texture, and composition.

Before fully dedicating herself to painting, she founded a floral design business inspired by fine art, where she explored the relationship between nature, form, and aesthetics. That same sensitivity continues to shape her artistic practice today.

Alongside her artistic career, Sopiko is an internationally trained dentist. She views dentistry as another form of art—one that requires an exceptional understanding of proportion, balance, color, light, texture, and detail. Whether selecting the precise shade of white for a restoration or sculpting the natural anatomy of a tooth, every decision depends on the same artistic sensitivity that guides her painting.

She began painting alone on her balcony at dusk, driven by nothing more than the desire to mix colors and discover what could emerge. That quiet experiment became the foundation of her artistic journey.

Working without predetermined rules or stylistic limitations, Sopiko moves freely between abstraction, still life, landscape, and figurative painting. Each work develops intuitively, allowing the process itself to determine the final image.

For her, art is not about reproducing reality, but about creating something that has never existed before.
